VIPA was a start-up company even before the term existed. Founded in 1985 by Wolfgang Seel, driven by his enthusiasm for automation and necessarily by the vision of the potential development of this industry sector. And all this at a time when the Commodore64 was considered the pinnacle of technology. The company's first address was not a garage, but actually a 3-room apartment. For that business plan, it was all that was needed to achieve the goal: offering an alternative solution while remaining compatible. The first products were complementary solutions optimizing existing Siemens systems. In the 1990s, the first proprietary PLC controller system was created. Later, innovation followed innovation. Today, with a range of products, including the world's fastest Hard-PLC, VIPA is already an established company. We continue according to the philosophy of open interfaces. For example, a solution enabling successful cooperation between S5 and S7 systems. VIPA GmbH is currently represented in over 60 countries, has nearly 300 employees, and with a turnover of around 35 million EUR, is a stable company with solid financial foundations. It is committed to the Franconia region, producing and creating jobs here. A company that continues to grow but wants to remain a medium-sized company.
